
Madhuri dixit was an Indian actress well-known for her roles in the films 'Beta' Saajan' and 'Hum Hain Koun' . Her career began in the late 1980s. She gained popularity through her role as a supporting actor in the film Tezaab. Then, she appeared in the movie "Dil" where she shared screen space alongside Aamir Khan. She was brought up in Mumbai by a middle-class family. At an early age she began learning to dance. She ventured into acting as an infant and had a difficult few years as most of her initial films were flops. Her career took off and went on to become a prominent actress in the Indian film industry. After her wedding she took a few months to relax from acting before returning to the entertainment business. Recently, she was an integral part of the film "Gulaab Gang" that focused on the triumphs and struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. She won eight. She also received the Padma Shri (the fourth highest civilian award in India). She is also well-known for her work in the field of social service.
