Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American performer and actress. Her first release was funny, well-written music that tackled questions of racial identity and sexuality. Later, she broadened her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came from the trumpet. Alongside classical music and jazz, Nora Lum started to study hip-hop during her teens. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies and studied women's studies and journalism. For a brief period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. After graduation, she begin to concentrate on music. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet and was later released on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. Some other hits that went viral included Queef song and the winking NYC Bitchecity tour. The single that debuted was is directly linked to the album The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. She opted to pursue acting careers after completing her first two ventures as a musician and author. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. It was in June that she released her first film In Fina We Trust.
